SCREW CONVEYOR is used to convey dry powder or granules in bulk from one place to other in horizontal, inclined or vertical direction without dusting and with very low power consumption compare to pneumatic conveying.
It consists of spiral machined flights welded over pipe which rotates inside U or tabular type casing. Shafts which are connected to the pipe, rotate in bearings with stuffing box through motor, gearbox and chain and sprocket drive.
Material enters at one end and it is conveyed by spiral flight at other end.
Screw conveyor is useful for much purpose like transfer of powder from discharge bin, to load blender or silo at height, to connect outlet of one machine to the inlet of other machine or as a feeder to control feed rate of powder to the machine.
Range available from 50mm to 500mm dia with various design of flights like spiral, paddle, cut and folded or ribbon type etc.
Capacity available from few kilos to few tons.
Length may be from 1 meter to 25 meters.
Specials features are provided as per application like force feeding, jacket, bottom bush (new introduction allows cleaning of conveyor and reduced jamming) etc.
Application is in cement, chemicals, dyes and pigments, minerals, pesticides fertilizers, spices etc.
